On Friday 5th December, the students of both final classes of construction engineering (5ABW, 5BBW) headed to Bolzano to visit “Museion”, a museum of modern art, and participate in a “multi-language project”.

After our arrival at the train station, we went to the museum, located next to the Free University of Bolzano. Our visit included a guided tour of the museum, which was held in Italian, and an English workshop related to the exhibition “Soleil Politique”.

Firstly, we took the guided tour to learn about the architecture of the building under the guidance of a staff member of the museum, who was waiting for us in front of the museum. She told us about the international competition held for architects to select the design, explained us the symbolic meaning of this building and some interesting features of the exterior and interior design. After visiting all the four floors we had a short break.

Then, we were asked to form two groups so that we could take part in the workshop. After a warm up activity under the guidance of two English speakers, staff members of the museum, we visited the exhibition “Soleil politique”, which includes models, sculptures, short films, documents, etc., created by different artists. Finally , we worked on different tasks, using English to communicate, express wishes and opinions on various topics related to the exhibition.

The visit to Museion was a new experience and another way to learn in a different context.
